SSR Spare Tire Kit
$ 22.50
- The Simple Engineering SSR Spare Tire Kit moves the battery box out from the center of the frame rails and allows installation of a standard Trailblazer spare tire winch. Since GM no longer makes the 25911640 winch, the one provided is a brand new, aftermarket part. This winch may arrive separately from a 3rd party supplier. The battery goes into a brand new stainless steel battery box that slides vertically into a receiver mounted to the frame rail behind the right rear tire. The battery box is pre-assembled to aid in installation. All mounting hardware, brackets and a new battery ground cable are included in the kit. Included in the “Full Kit” is a handy black canvas carry bag for the tools and a “typical-sized” scissors jack of your choice. The 1/2″ drive tools included in the full kit are….. 1) An 18″ breaker bar…. 2) A 19mm socket for removing the lug nuts… 3) A 1/2″ drive ratchet… 4) A 10″ extension… 5) A 10mm deep socket for operating the tire winch. The combination of tools are needed to undo lug nuts and operate the winch from under the truck. ⚠️The 2 ton (it really takes this heavy of a jack to lift the SSR) scissors jack that was previously offered is discontinued and has been eliminated from the offerings. It is now up to the customer to provide the jack. ⚠️ Please note that the Spare Tire Kit is guaranteed compatible with the “stock” exhaust system. Aftermarket exhaust systems must have an “outboard jog” on the driver’s side tailpipe to clear the spare tire when installed. Any aftermarket exhaust that does not have the extra room for the tire will need to be modified similar to the OEM tailpipe. The installation instructions are a step-by-step guide to guarantee success.
