SSR Red Battery Junction Box

- The (new and improved) Red Under-hood Battery Junction Box is now available. My design is square, instead of rectangular and it opens forward instead of up. This means that you will be able to open the door on it without twisting stuff and interfering with hoses and lines. The lid on the OEM one was always hard to get open enough to see the terminal. That is no longer an issue with the side hinged unit. The cover is secured to the main body with rare earth magnets and is “just right”. The box, itself, is ABS plastic and is produced by a very talented shop in Gilbert, Arizona. The 3D printer they use operates at an extremely high speed and only takes less than 10 hours to print the box and lid. There is no “unfilled” sections of this piece. It is solid ABS all the way through. The lettering is laser etched into the lid and all of the hardware we use is stainless steel. The mounting to the SSR is identical to the OEM box. First prototyped in 2020, we went through several iterations of machined non-conductive parts before settling on this design in 2023 and putting it into production for the SSR family.
